DATA ETHICS

Privacy Policy

Show Up Maryland runs on radical transparency. Here is exactly what data we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it.

The Short Version

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data. We collect absolute minimum data needed to provide features you explicitly request. Our foundational AI models run completely locally, meaning nothing you ask is beamed off to third-party tech giants.

What We Collect

1. Core Web Logs (Anonymous)

Like standard websites, basic visitor metrics and generic web server logs are retained (such as IP addresses routing through Cloudflare). This information is solely used to maintain cybersecurity and reliability operations.

2. Local Storage (Anonymous)

Your browser uses local session cache mechanisms to persist your non-sensitive choices, like saving a residential address to quickly populate "My District" data upon your return. This specific data is retained locally on your computer and is never dispatched to our centralized databases.

3. Account Email Vectors (Upcoming Feature)

When subscriptions and email alerts activate as part of our upcoming roadmap, submitting your email will securely orchestrate password-less authorizations via magic-link protocols. These identifiers are strictly isolated to distribute requested notifications.

Unique AI Guarantees

Self-Hosted Processing

Our bespoke civic AI functionality operates entirely on self-managed servers utilizing local LLMs (llama.cpp + Gemma pipelines). What does this mean strictly for privacy? It means the inquiries you formulate remain insulated inside our architecture. We categorically do not forward your interactions out to platforms like Google Gemini or OpenAI ChatGPT contexts.
